Would you like to explore making Harvest Bible Chapel TCI your church home, we invite you to participate in the following steps:
Guest Reception (Step 1)
Our Guest Reception takes place for 15 minutes after each service. This is the best place to meet some of our staff, get an overview of the foundations of our church and connect with others who are new to Harvest.
This is a two-hour class, which gives you a solid understanding of what it means to be a follower of Jesus Christ. It discusses the history of Harvest Bible Chapel, describes what a disciple of Jesus Christ is and does, and explains church government, baptism, and the commitments of members of Harvest Bible Chapel.
At the completion of Step 2, you will receive a membership application. Upon the completion and return of your application, will meet with a church elder to share your testimony of conversion to Christ and ask any remaining questions about the church. Your name is then placed in the bulletin for two consecutive weeks in keeping with Matthew 18. If no concerns raised by other members of Harvest, you are officially welcomed in as a member during a weekend service.
God’s word teaches us all we need to know about baptism. At Harvest Bible Chapel, our practice is to apply God’s word in that:
We are baptized because Jesus said His disciples are baptized. (Matthew 28:18-20)
We recognize baptism is an outward picture of what took place in our hearts when we committed our life to Jesus. (Romans 6:3-5)
We understand that baptism is not required to go to heaven (Luke 23:39-43) as is illustrated with the thief on the cross, but is done in obedience to Jesus call.
We observe that baptism always follows a profession of faith in Jesus Christ. (Acts 2:40-41, 8:34-37, 9:15-19, 10:44-48, 16:14-15, 31-33)
Further, because the definition of the Greek word “baptizo” means to “dip in or under” or “to immerse” we practice baptism by full immersion, meaning that the person is put fully under the water…but not held too long.
Harvest Bible Chapel schedules baptismal services every 8-10 weeks as needed. One of the pastors would love to speak with you about you being baptized in obedience to Jesus.
Our small groups are one of the key connecting avenues of our church. You can choose to participate in any of our small groups at any point in your assimilation process. Small groups are also open to persons who are not regular attendees at our church. For more information on times and locations click here.
